PROVIDING BENCHES & DESKS TO SCHOOL CHILDREN IN DHADING MENSTRUATION WORKSHOPS IN RURAL AREAS OF NEPAL FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES WORLDWIDE COMMUNICATING & COLLABORATING WITH ORGANISATIONS & COMMUNITIES
Our mission is to empower Nepali people to live fulfilled lives by providing creative education and resources.
We are committed to collaborating with people around the world, bringing expertise, ideas and funding together to make a difference within Nepali communities.
For the past year our focus has been on providing vital supplies through our networks during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are also working with a passionate team of young people across Nepal to create Kumari’s Adventure with her Moon Cycle, an inspiring story book about menstruation.

THE BOOK THAT
STARTED IT

Our founder, Sophie Maliphant, experienced the 7.9 richter earthquake on 25th April 2015 first hand. The children’s book that she wrote and illustrated afterwards was the starting point of our organisation.
It’s where we got our name, and it and it continues to be part of the ongoing journey. A perfect tool to start conversation and connect with people globally.

“ THIS IS MEANINGFUL, POWERFUL, EMPOWERING
AND MAKES A TRUE DIFFERENCE. ”

SHARING WHAT WE LEARN
IN UK SCHOOLS TO EMPOWER
WESTERN CHILDREN

OUR FOUR KEY VALUES ARE:

CONNECTION

Does what we’re doing create a lasting connection, either with knowledge, resources or other local people? We want to create connections within communities that allow them to grow sustainably.

EMPOWERMENT

And does our work leave people feeling
empowered with a sense of
their own self-worth and the
difference they can make?

LOVE

Is this action, this workshop, this delivery of resources coming from the right place? From a place of care, consideration and love rather than a need to ‘get something done’ or fulfil an unrelated goal?

EQUALITY

How can we work in a way that encourages
equality for all? From gender equality,
to education equality and within the
caste system too.

WHERE IS THIS GOING?

A very valid question. We are continuing to grow and develop what we offer as we visit more communities, work with more people and collaborate with more organisations. Organically, this means that what we offer is evolving and as our network grows, the number of people that we reach will also multiply.
That is our goal, to reach as many people as we can with this work, and deliver the information to them in the most effective way that we can.
